Chandelier Art

I started creating Chandelier Art about 5 years ago. I received 2 antique chandeliers from a Dana Lehmann, a photographer and friend in Giddings. She thought I might be able to create something from them.

I had my neice Jackie take apart the chandelier. After washing the beads, I realized how beautiful the glass prisms were. We started laying out the beads and created stars and flowers. I also named one after Jackie. It is called The Jack Star!!!

I work with came, a 6' strip of lead with a channel down the middle. I wrapped the beads with came, added a colorful glass glob for the center and soldered it all together. The results were beautiful.

I added colored chandelier beads and started making other art including Angels, Glass Strips, and additions to the Depression Glass Windchimes.
I will add pictures to this once I figure out how.

Spring Fling in Giddings Texas

April 24th is right around the corner and Giddings Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting "Spring Fling", an Arts and Crafts show featuring local artists and their crafts.

I started this blog as I am a Texas Stained Glass Artist and I wanted to share my craft with others. I have been doing stained glass for about 7 years. I started making Depression Glass windchimes as gifts and people started asking for them. I was in my first Craft show in 2003 and have kept on soldering. I have organized and promoted Craft Shows in Giddings. I also participated in Craft shows in Brenham and College Station.

The Spring Fling will be held in the parking lot between the Landmark Event Center and the Depot just north of HWY 290 on HWY 77. The show will be from 10:00 A.M. - 4:00 ish. We have 13+ vendors at this time and sometimes shoppers like to linger and we will stay as long as ya'll are here.
